Rotary pressure joints |
|
Rotary pressure joint is an assembly witch secures sealing between inlet pipe and rotational cylinder thus providing heat transfer by media in or from the equipments rotational element. Fluids that are commonly used for heat transfer are water, thermal oils, hydraulic oils, cooling fluids and vapor. When it comes to rotary pressure joints, sealing of work fluids is done by the use of mechanical seals. The mechanical seal spring provides contact between sealing faces before the machine starts its work, while during work, the contact is secured by the act of hydraulic pressure, except in cases of low working pressures or vacuum. The right choice of mechanical seal is of major importance in order to reach the work of rotary pressure joint efficient, because in cases of mechanical seal malfunction, leakage occurs which reduces efficiency of entire cooling or warming process. The construction of rotary pressure joint is such that the mechanical seal is easily replaceable which reduces the expenses which would occur in cases of reduced efficiency of the process. |

The major criteria when it comes to choosing the right type of rotary pressure joint, are the place of its application and the type of working fluid. Besides, the construction of rotary pressure joint does, as mentioned, differ when it comes to direction of fluid flow, i.e. whether the flow is in one or both directions. During choosing of the mechanical seal as the basic part of rotary pressure joint, one must have in mind the characteristics of the working fluid. The combination of carbon-graphite / tungsten-carbide seal faces has universal application in normal conditions when it comes to working temperatures and chemical aggressiveness of working fluid. In cases of hard particles presence in working fluid, it is recommended to use sealing faces made of silicon carbide, because of their constant pressing in the soft seal face. Carbon-graphite / silicon-carbide seal face combination represents the best choice in processes where the working fluid is hot oil. |

“Kroma Ltd” delivers rotary pressure joints adjustable for single, as well as for dual fluid flow. Single flow rotary pressure joints are used in cases when fluid enters on one side of the cylinder and comes out on the other, during which fluid passes only in one direction, through one rotary pressure joint. In those cases two separate rotary pressure joints are used, one on process entrance and the other on its exit. With rotary pressure joints adjustable for dual flow, fluid does, during entering and exiting, pass through the same rotary pressure joint. In this case rotary pressure joint does not allow mixing of inlet and outlet fluid, as well as fluid leak in open atmosphere |
